## Guide for this category...

This exercise features exponents that range from -1 to 4. The process for positive exponents has been discussed, but what is the process for exponents lower than 1?

When the exponent is 0, the product is always 1. Negative exponents are a little more complicated; in this case, divide 1 by the base the number of times in the exponent.

So, 4⁻² = 1 ÷ 4 ÷ 4 = 0.0625.
